We are so pleased to be able to offer this unique training opportunity in partnership with the Dialogue for Peaceful Change Programme (DPC) – a global training programme completed by over 2,000 people worldwide. The programme enables you to become a ‘mediative facilitator’ and offers a practical toolkit and methodologies for managing all aspects of conflict.
It has been utilised by agencies including UNHRC, Concern, International Committee of the Red Cross, USAID, the United States Institute for Peace, the Presbyterian Church USA, the Lutheran Church, other International NGOs, Universities, Faith groups and Justice agencies.

This modular training programme covers four distinct pillars of learning:
Participants experience a variety of activities, reflections and lectures which enable them to consider their own understanding of their experience of conflict- whether it be organizational, personal or in a peacebuilding capacity.
Participants learn key conceptual frameworks of DPC which including models to locate and explore the drivers of conflict and mediative behaviour.
Participants then learn a variety of tools which will add to their previous knowledge and skill sets to enhance their leadership in conflict situations.
Participants then have the opportunity to apply these new skills through intensive, coached role play that is relevant to their professional environment. This applied approach allows participants to identify and build upon new patterns of collaboration and problem solving.
Michael is currently the Managing Director of MG Consultants, a training company that focuses on change management, conflict transformation and equality, diversity and inclusion. Furthermore, Michael serves as a mediator in international and domestic matters including civil and employment disputes specialising in issues related to equality and diversity. He works with individuals and groups to design, improve and repair attitudes, relationships and faulty structures.
Michael has over 20 years’ experience of serving on public and charitable boards with an expertise in corporate and charitable governance. More recently, Michael serves or has served on the boards of Diabetes UK, African Caribbean Support Organisation Northern Ireland, Corrymeela and the NHS Salford Trust.
Michael has lived and worked on five continents during his career giving him unique insights into the impact of race, religion and culture on our workplaces and communities.
Rebecca leads on our community reconciliation programme. With over 20 years of experience in community reconciliation, training and facilitation, Rebecca has a passion for curating spaces that encourage understanding and enable shared wisdom. She holds accreditation in restorative justice, trauma informed practice, mediative facilitation and is currently studying Spiritual Direction. She moved from California to London in 2001 to study at the London School of Theology where she received her BA in Theology & Worship. Her past employers include Oasis Trust, XLP Youth Charity, and Tearfund. She lives in South London with her husband and twin daughters.
The 4.5 day training will take place from 9am – 5pm each day from Monday March 10th to Thursday March 13th and 9am – 1pm on Friday March 14th in the historic St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation & Peace. A comprehensive schedule will be sent to you ahead of the training. The fee for this 4 day training includes an introduction to St Ethelburgas and our centre values, the DPC methodology handbook, certificate, ongoing community of practice opportunities, and light refreshments.
