An in-person event at St Ethelburga’s hosted by Amina Khalid, The Sustainable Communities Programme (Initiatives of Change) and Jo Winsloe Slater, People of the Earth (St Ethelburga’s).  See below for tickets.

Come and join us to mark World Peace Day 2022. We are hosting an intimate evening on Saturday 17 September of friendship and hospitality on the theme of ‘Home’.

‘Home’ can mean so many different things. It may be a country, a landscape, or a particular place – or found with a person, our family, or in a tradition or even in devotional silence.  We invite you to an evening of stories and curated conversation that explores what Home means to us and how it may draw us closer together.

We will be hosted in the Bedouin Tent of St Ethelburgas, a place designed to bring people together in meaningful ways and which stands as a symbol of migration and migrancy.

Our evening will include

  • Small group or whole group conversation
  • Middle Eastern inspired light supper and non-alchoholic refreshments
  • Live music

To mark this occasion

  • We invite you to wear traditional dress or if you don’t have traditional dress, to bring something with you of a tradition that’s close to your heart.
  • For the food table, we invite you to bring a traditional sweet or dessert of some kind to share with other guests.

Tickets

Tickets are open to all and range in price from £12-22 per person.  We especially welcome people with an experience or heritage of migration.  If the cost prevents you from attending, please contact Jo Winsloe Slater to explore a guest option.

We look forward to welcoming you.
