We are proud to work in partnership with several organisations internationally who share our values.
The Centre for Spiritual Imagination, New York City
Rooted in contemplative Christian spirituality, the centre’s approach democratizes the gifts of monastic spirituality and translates them into a form that can be lived in everyday life. Their goal is to create initiatives that integrate contemplation and action, to meet the mutiple crises of our times. Listen to Adam in conversation with Justine Huxley, CEO of St Ethelburga’s on the theme of spiritual leadership, as part of a series on community resilience hosted by an alumnus of St Ethelburga’s resilience programme, Kathryn Jordan.
The Global South
We also partner with organisations in the Global South on the front lines of climate and social collapse. Our intention is to make links that extend beyond our own context of relative priviledge, and create a platform for global majority voices to include their skills and wisdom. We also donate a portion of our event income. These organisations now face an additional layer of intense hardship due to the pandemic.
Bushman Heritage Museum, South Africa
The Bushman Heritage Museum is a unique coming together of ancient Bushman wisdom and tackling the social damage left behind by genocide. Art and traditional quilt-making are used to portray creation mythologies and explore our connectedness to all of nature, themes which are linked to environmental crisis. The project also supports the wider community with food growing, a soup kitchen and educational projects. (Click here to donate).
Maher, India
Founded by Sister Lucy Kurien, who has been a speaker in several St Ethelburga’s programmes, Maher works with destitute children, women and men all over India. Water and food security are a major issue in the shadow of both climate breakdown and coronavirus. (Click this link to donate).
Circles of Hospitality, Brazil
Founded by Bruna Kadletz from Brazil, with whom St Ethelburga’s has collaborated on many occasions, Circles of Hospitality works with refugees, many of whom are now in dire situations due to Covid-19.

St Ethelburga’s work sits at the intersection of climate and peace. We believe there can be no peace on Earth unless we also realise peace with Earth.
We offer events, training, leadership programmes and multimedia content which equip and inspire people to become peacemakers in their own contexts. Our project areas include community reconciliation, refugee inclusion, radical resilience, viewpoint diversity, and spiritual ecology.
