For refugees arriving in the UK, learning and practicing English language is one of the most important ways to make friends, learn about the new culture and begin to feel that this new land can become Home. Join us for a morning of conversation, connection and a shared meal with our partner and co-host 'Xenia Women'.
We are delighted to be partnering with Xenia Women, a language initiative for learners and speakers of English that creates a safe and welcoming place for women from all countries and backgrounds for this event.
Women friends of St Ethelburga’s are warmly welcomed to join refugee and migrant women for a morning of conversation, connection and a shared meal at St Ethelburga’s (this is a women only event).
The morning will include the following elements and close with a shared meal offered by Xenia Women’s members:
This event is open to all women members of the St Ethelburga community, including those who are also learning English. This is a free event, but please register for seating and organisational purposes. Register here: jowinsloe@stethelbugas.org
Xenia Women creates a safe and welcoming place, that brings together women from all countries and backgrounds to connect with each other, share experiences, and practice English through creative language and cultural workshops.
