People interested in getting to know newcomers and showing hospitality

New Londoners

People who left their homeland to seek safety and build a new life in London.

Welcome to our launch event bringing new Londoners, those who left their homes to seek safety and a new life here in the UK, and local, settled Londoners together for a day of connection, networking, conversation and enjoyment.

Did you leave your homeland to seek safety and build a new life here in the UK? Do you feel at home in London?  Would you like to meet people who have been living in London for a while and know their way around?

Are you a local, settled Londoner who is interested in getting to know newcomers, showing hospitality and having conversations, and sharing your passion for this city?

Then come and co-create an exciting, creative community where our shared humanity is more important than any label of refugee or asylum seeker; where all have a place to exchange and share passions and talents.

Event begins at 11am and will include:

  • Welcome
  • Facilitated connection making
  •  Conversation
  • Live music
  • Free Vegetarian lunch
  • Traditional storytelling
  • Exhibitions

Please register so we can organise lunch for everyone.  For more information contact Jo on Whatsap 07935 646814

The event launches a new monthly gathering that will connect refugees, asylum seekers and other Londoners together to nurture stronger, welcoming communities through conversation and creative activities.

A few more details:

  • The event is suitable for adults and for parents and guardians to bring children and young people (remaining with their parents or guardians)
  • Men and women will be sharing the space
  • There will be an exhibition of images of wall art created by residents of the Oinofyta refugee camp in Greece, and artworks by new Londoners
  • Bus pass travel available for any new Londoners who wish it.

People of the Earth is a project about living from our deepest values, making connections and strengthening community between Londoners; settled, locals and those more recently arrived to seek safety and build a life and home in this beautiful city.
