We are currently developing practical resources that inspire and equip people to be reconcilers in their own lives and communities. The Reconciliation Resource will include:
- a web-based library of key concepts and ideas about the nature of reconciliation illustrated with case studies, scripture, and other examples;
- newly published guides and “toolkits” setting out St Ethelburga's practical approach to reconciliation;
- an integrated, modular skills training program;
- a service we offer to support people in resolving their conflicts.
The Reconciliation Resource will capture the learning and wisdom about reconciliation that passes through St Ethelburgas and our partner organisations and make this accessible to others.
Our starting point is John Paul Lederach's seminal concept of reconciliation (based on Psalm 85: 10) as the creation of a meeting place where the relationships and paradoxes between mercy, truth, justice and peace are negotiated. We find this understanding of reconcilitation gives us a robust framework for the Resource (you can also download the handout).
